ETF-DVV international-EAEA joint conference on the Way towards EU Integration: Countries of Eastern and South-Eastern Europe Shaping Lifelong Learning Systems

Latest news! 5 country notes are ready (LINK and below) for your reading to get more flavour about the adult learning and education in Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova and Ukraine just before we start the high-level meeting on the Way towards EU Integration: Countries of Eastern and South-Eastern Europe Shaping Lifelong Learning Systems, on 13th March 2024 in the Committee of the Regions' building, Brussels, Belgium.

This meeting is organised jointly by the European Training Foundation (ETF), the DVV international and the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA). The event takes place under the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and in the context of the European Year of Skills.

We would like to reflect on the state of convergence of countries' adult education and lifelong learning systems with the policies, trends and best practices in the EU member states. Perspectives for the further development of the sector will be presented and discussed with stakeholders in the EU. The event will provide an opportunity for high-level politicians, civil servants and civil society representatives to discuss progress, approaches, frameworks and recommendations in the (adult) education sector and thus identify priority areas for further cooperation with the European Union, its organisations and international partners.

The one day-event will be organised in the format of plenary sessions with contributions from representatives of Ministries of Education, agencies for Adult Education and the civil society (national Adult Education associations, platforms, and networks). They will be joined by experts from the European Association for Education of Adults, European Training Foundation, DVV International and representatives of the EU Commission. This event will serve as a communication platform for participants from Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kosovo, Moldova, and Ukraine and will provide an opportunity for professional exchange on achievements and challenges in the process of converging Adult Learnning and Education and Lifelong Learning systems with EUs best practices.
